PCB Solder Mask Ink Color Difference

What is the color of PCB solder mask ink? The so-called PCB solder mask ink color actually refers to the color of the PCB board. The ink process needs to be used twice in the process of producing PCB. One is text printing and the other is solder mask printing. Usually we are in the quotation process. After receiving the Gerber data sent by the customer, you also need to confirm the following basic information to the customer, such as: board thickness, copper thickness, process, text color, solder mask color, imposition and other information, and calculate the final circuit board based on all the information. The most common PCB ink color is green oil, followed by red oil, blue oil, black oil, white oil, purple oil, etc. The most common PCB ink color is green oil. There is no difference in the color function of the circuit board from the choice of solder mask ink. Its main work is shown in the following aspects:

Nickel-plated gold resistance: At present, many PCB surface treatments are nickel-plated gold, so the resistance to nickel-plated gold must be good.

High photosensitivity: The higher photosensitivity allows the ink to be cured quickly during curing.  

Cavitation resistance: No bubbles or pinholes are generated during the process of spraying or printing ink curing.  

High adhesion: The adhesion affects the life of the ink, and the high adhesion avoids falling off and lifting.  

Heat resistance: Good heat resistance can protect the stability of high-power components PCB.

Halogen-free: The PCB production process has a certain impact on the environment. Lead-free and halogen-free will be the focus of PCB manufacturing in the future.  

Smoke concentration: The lower the concentration of smoke produced during use, the smaller the impact on the environment.

Printed PCB solder mask inks include the following two types:   

1: Liquid photosensitive ink: Liquid photosensitive ink is a special ink that can be printed on a full board without a printing plate. The ink coating is photosensitive and cured. After development, it can be processed by etching, electroplating, electrophoretic filling, etc. It is suitable for the production of small batch, multi-variety, personalized and high-precision products.

2: UV solder mask ink: suitable for the manufacture of solder mask patterns for rigid printed circuit boards. It has fast light curing speed, good heat resistance, and strong adhesion. It can meet the requirements of single and double-sided circuit boards. If the viscosity is very high during use Large, you can add a small amount of special thinner to dilute, but the amount should not exceed 5% of the amount of ink.
